Introducing.. our first ever.. Baking Boot Camp. An intensive 4-week series designed to take you from Baking zero to hero!

Kids ages 7 and 8 need to have a parent/care-giver sign-up as well. Kids ages 9 and up may sign-up without a guardian.

Week 1-The Quick Bread Stage
Introduction of baking, gaining knowledge on product methods, chemical leavening agents different types of yeasts and fermentation.
Methods: Biscuit (cut in), muffin, creaming , and straight dough
Recipes: country biscuit, chocolate cherry scones, and rosemary focaccia
Week 2- Puffy Pastry, Pastry Cream and Rich dough
This week you’re learning about laminated doughs.
Method: Stirred custard, straight dough and laminated dough
Recipes: Puffy Pastry, crème patisserie (pastry cream), cream filled napoleons
Week 3- Cookies!!!
Week three you’ll learn about the different types of cookies. There are many ways to make the cookies we love to eat.
Method: Drop cookies, pressed cookies and sheet cookies
Recipes: Chocolate chip, spritz cookie, fudge brownies
Week 4- Pies and Tarts
Last week is about the variety of pies, the different methods to cook pies and the type of filling we use in our pies.
Method: Flakey dough, mealy dough, cooked fruit, cooked juice or baked
Recipes: basic pie dough, sweet tart dough, cherry pie, fresh berry tart
Included in this Boot Camp:
- A folder with relevant course materials for the 4 weeks.
- Your very own FlavorPot apron to take home and keep!
- Recipe cards for every item that will be made.
- Chef hats at the beginning of the week to wear and take home.
